The Coloriettes Classroom Kit · Module 1: First Steps · Premiers Pas

$55.00

A complete 9-week French–English classroom module for ages 4–7 — fully bilingual, fully guided, and ready to teach.

Each week introduces a small, manageable set of new vocabulary through illustrated coloring scenes, short bilingual sentences, vocabulary cards, games, and activities. As the module progresses, words from previous weeks return again and again, helping children recognize them in new contexts and gradually combine what they know.

There are no lessons for you to create and no activities or prompts to invent. Print the pages, cut the cards, and follow along.

Nine Weeks of Learning

The module begins with language children can immediately use with one another — saying hello, introducing themselves, asking names, and saying please and thank you — before expanding into their classroom and other familiar subjects.

Over the nine weeks, students explore:

  1. Hello! · Bonjour !
  2. At School · À l’école
  3. Colors · Les couleurs
  4. Numbers & Shapes · Les nombres & les formes
  5. Classroom Instructions · Les consignes
  6. The Body · Le corps
  7. Morning Routine · Routine du matin
  8. Evening Routine · Routine du soir
  9. I Know the Basics! · Je maîtrise les bases !

By the final week, vocabulary is no longer separated into individual themes. Children bring together what they have learned in everyday situations: ordering cookies and candy at the bakery, visiting the doctor, tidying a very messy kitchen, and exploring a library.

The goal is simple: help children discover that the words they have learned can work together to help them understand, describe, answer, choose, count, identify, and communicate.

A Consistent 5-Day Structure

Each of the first eight weeks follows the same rhythm, so teachers and students quickly know what to expect.

Days 1–3 — Learn Through a New Scene
Three new words are introduced each day through a new scene with Naya. Children encounter the vocabulary in context through an illustrated coloring page, short bilingual sentences, vocabulary cards, and guided games and activities.

Day 4 — Let’s Play With It All!
The week comes together through review and play, while bringing back vocabulary learned earlier in the module.

Day 5 — Make It Personal!
Students use what they have learned to talk about themselves and their own lives — their classroom, favorite colors, body, routines, experiences, and more — and create their own vocabulary card.

At the end of each week, a simple self-assessment invites children to identify the words they feel they know. This gives teachers a quick picture of where students feel confident and where more practice may be useful, while helping children become comfortable recognizing and communicating what they know — and what they don’t know yet.

Built-In Repetition

Vocabulary from earlier weeks keeps coming back in new combinations and situations. Colors describe objects, numbers combine with shapes, classroom words return in instructions, and body and routine vocabulary reappear in later activities. By Week 9, students are drawing on words from across the module at once.

Vocabulary Made to Be Played With

The first eight weeks introduce 72 vocabulary words, with four cards for every word:

  • French + English + picture
  • French only
  • English only
  • Picture only

That gives you 288 reusable vocabulary cards to match, sort, identify, translate, categorize, describe, hide, remember, and play with in different ways.

The colorful frames also create additional possibilities for sorting and games, and the Teacher Guide includes extra card-game ideas you can use throughout the module.

Print a complete set for each child, one set for small groups, or keep one classroom set and reuse it.

French, English — or Both

The entire module is bilingual, with French and English provided side by side.

Use both languages together, teach primarily in French and use English for support, or teach primarily in English and use French for support.

You don’t need to translate the material yourself or redesign the lessons depending on which language you are teaching.

Everything Is Ready for You

The module includes 186 printable pages filled with illustrated learning scenes, bilingual text, vocabulary cards, coloring, activities, games, weekly reviews, personalized activities, self-assessments, and a final playful review.

A separate bilingual Teacher Guide PDF is also included, with weekly objectives, vocabulary, structure, teacher notes, self-assessment guidance, and additional game ideas.

Print all nine weeks at once or work one week at a time.

No lesson planning. No searching for activities. No creating your own prompts.

Just print, cut, teach — and let Naya take it from there.
